DIAGNOSIS

DIAGNOSIS

“Efficient and profitable management of water and wastewater facilities presents significant challenges, especially for utilities operating under constrained budgets. These utilities must navigate frequent regulatory changes, contend with aging infrastructure, and adapt to a dynamic workforce.

Recognizing that these challenges are not unique, Rhino Engineering eschews generic solutions. Instead, our water and wastewater experts engage directly with each client to understand their specific facilities and tailor our strategic recommendations to their distinct requirements.

Our team employs advanced technologies, including CCTV, laser, sonar, and lidar, to conduct thorough assessments of system conditions. This approach facilitates the identification of structural, operational, and maintenance issues with precision, enabling targeted interventions that minimize overall maintenance and repair costs.

We provide a comprehensive Condition Assessment Report that includes recommended rehabilitation methods, severity ratings, GIS mapping, and construction cost estimates. All recommendations adhere to NASSCO standards, ensuring a thorough and professional approach to facility management and planning.”

TRANSPORT

TRANSPORT

Rhino Engineering provides a diverse range of transportation services across multiple geographies to service transportation projects including highways, roads; interchanges, bridges; rail and transit; and long-range transportation planning. We bring extensive experience in providing environmental services in a transportation-based analysis context to local, regional, federal, and national agencies.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REHABILITATION

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REHABILITATION

Trenchless methods offer a versatile solution for rehabilitating existing pipelines under diverse conditions. These techniques are especially advantageous in urban settings, where traditional construction methods can severely disrupt business operations, residential areas, and both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Additionally, the presence of other underground utilities and existing infrastructure poses significant challenges for conventional excavation and replacement approaches. Consequently, trenchless techniques are frequently employed in such scenarios. In general, trenchless sewer rehabilitation methods necessitate less installation time, and consequently, reduced pumping time compared to traditional excavation and replacement methods.

We have the following experience in the design and execution of the following methods (inside and outside the US):

CIPP Cured-in-Place Pipe: A seamless rehabilitation method using resin-impregnated liners, CIPP offers a joint-free
solution for pipes.
Sliplining: This approach involves inserting a smaller pipe into a larger one and can be effective for structural
rehabilitation.
PE or PVC Spiral Wrapping: This technique creates a liner within the pipe, using interlocking strips of PVC or HDPE. Its
adaptability to various geometries makes it versatile.
Folding and formed liner: Ideal for smaller pipes, this method uses flattened or folded PVC or HDPE pipes. It offers a
balanced approach between ease of installation and impact on capacity.
Geopolymer Liner: A high-strength mortar, geopolymer is applied as a liner. Its corrosion resistance and durability
characteristics make it a powerful solution.
Epoxy and polyurethane coating: Offering a range of applications, epoxy coatings provide structural or non-structural
solutions with high corrosion resistance.
Pipe bursting: Although technically a replacement method, pipe bursting may be considered due to its
trenchless approach. Its suitability depends on factors such as alignment and proximity to the utility.
