INSPECTION

INSPECTION

Rhino Engineering has performed comprehensive sewer and stormwater infrastructure inspections across diverse geographic regions, including multiple programs throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. We specialize in inspections within challenging and hard-to-access terrains—such as heavily vegetated corridors, remote environments, and areas with buried or deteriorated access structures—where conventional access and legacy mapping are limited.
Our experience includes detailed condition assessment of gravity pipelines and manholes in accordance with NASSCO standards, supplemented by pilot testing and application of drone-based inspection technologies to evaluate confined or otherwise inaccessible structures. Inspection data is subsequently integrated into engineering-grade models and asset inventories developed in AutoCAD Civil 3D, enabling accurate network representation, condition-based analysis, and informed rehabilitation and capital planning decisions.

SURVEYING AND MAPPING

SURVEYING AND MAPPING

We collaborate closely with clients throughout all project phases, addressing immediate operational needs while proactively evaluating long-term system performance and risk. Our services include infrastructure diagnostics, condition assessment, trenchless pipeline installation support, advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and high-precision utility mapping and asset inventory development. Rhino Engineering develops detailed AutoCAD Civil 3D pipe networks and geospatial datasets using survey-grade Trimble GNSS technology, establishing accurate horizontal and vertical control suitable for design, modeling, and capital planning applications.
Our team has executed mapping and surveying in complex and remote terrains where existing records are incomplete or unreliable, including heavily vegetated environments where manholes are buried and conventional GPS acquisition is constrained. In these conditions, we implement field-verified control traverses, elevation validation, subsurface structure confirmation, and GIS–Civil 3D integration to produce accurate, engineering-grade asset inventroies and network models. This technically rigorous approach ensures accurate system representation, supports hydraulic and risk analyses, and provides clients with reliable data for design, rehabilitation planning, and long-term asset management.
CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE

CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE

Rhino Engineering collaborates with clients across all project phases to define technical requirements, evaluate existing system conditions, and proactively identify operational and long-term infrastructure risks. Our multidisciplinary team provides integrated services including advanced infrastructure diagnostics, expert compliant condition assessment, trenchless pipeline installation support, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support data-driven rehabilitation and capital planning decisions. Rhino Engineering is distinguished by its depth of technical expertise, rigorous QA/QC protocols, and implementation of environmentally responsible engineering methodologies that deliver precise, constructible, and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Rhino’s focus includes:

Ø  Sewer and stormwater master planning involving assessment of existing civil drainage infrastructure and development of optimized system design and rehabilitation strategies.

Ø  Survey-grade underground utility mapping using Trimble GNSS data collection, field verification, and control establishment to define accurate civil infrastructure locations and elevations.

Ø  Condition assessment and maintenance support for gravity sewer and stormwater conveyance systems to restore hydraulic capacity and support rehabilitation planning.

Ø  Development of civil infrastructure master plans incorporating economic analysis, lifecycle cost evaluation, and system-wide performance optimization.

Ø  AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling to generate precise geospatial asset inventories and pipe network alignments for civil infrastructure systems, including in complex or data-deficient environments.

Ø  BIM integration for civil infrastructure projects to enhance multidisciplinary coordination, design visualization, and constructability analysis.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

Rhino Engineering provides multidisciplinary transportation engineering and infrastructure support services across multiple jurisdictions, supporting projects involving highways, arterial and local roadways, interchanges, bridges, rail and transit corridors, and long-range transportation planning. Our services include preparation of engineering drawings and traffic control plans in accordance with MUTCD standards, along with transportation-focused environmental and infrastructure analyses for municipal, regional, state, and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and constructible, defensible design deliverables.
Our work has been performed in coordination with agencies and utilities across diverse geographic regions, including Maryland (MDOT and DC Water programs), California, Colorado, Georgia, Puerto Rico, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This multi-jurisdictional experience enables Rhino Engineering to navigate varying regulatory frameworks, permitting requirements, and traffic control standards while delivering consistent, technically sound plans and analyses tailored to each transportation network and infrastructure program.
